Tazbot vs The Master 1996

Everyone expected The Master (a third year entry and former faceoff winner) to easily defeat the strange-looking newcomer Tazz. As the two robots crashed together, The Master revealed a new ability; it could rear its saw up and smash it down upon an enemy's top armor.

Again and again it hit Tazz, but due to Tazz's great manuverability the saw never was able to hold in one spot long enough to cut through Tazz's armor. Tazz's driver used his robot's unusual weapon to good effect, deflecting many of The Master's blows by swinging the metal arm from side to side.

The two robots fought for several minutes, until The Master suffered a crippling breakdown. As The Master's saw arm lifted, it pinched the wiring leading to the Master's tail; at the same time the kill switch on the saw motor hit the tail mechanism's armor and was knocked into the "off" position. In a flash of shorting wiring and a cloud of blue smoke, both of The Master's weapon systems died. Tazz advanced on the now helpless Master, cornering it. Tazz used hooked its arm about The Master's now dead saw, holding its adversary pinned. After thirty seconds, the scarred but fully functional Tazz was declared the winner.

TAZBOT VS LA MACHINE 1996

Tazz could do nothing to the well armored La Machine. La Machine repeatedly, shoving it about the arena. Tazz shed bits of armor during these collisions, and was eventually flipped onto its side and left helpless to die.

1996 MELEE

Tazz returned in the melee, where it did fairly well. In the final melee round it was flipped upside down several times, but was able to move somewhat by rotating its turret and raising its arm.
